Repetition Creates Greatness. Repetition Creates Success.

Another day, another workout. Often, pretty much the same.

“I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.” - Bruce Lee

The same goes for anything in life. Switch out ‘kick’ and put whatever you want there instead. After all these years of training and trying tons of different exercises, I come back to the most basic ones—the ones that give me and my body the best results.

The exercises I do in this video below are something I’ve been doing over and over and over again. For years. Here in Costa Rica, almost daily.

I don’t get bored

I make sure I love them. It’s about making that repetition even more perfect each time. Better range of motion, doing more reps per set, adding more weight, shifting tempo. You can always modify it. But I keep doing the same exercises.

I used to be very restless as a kid, naturally, due to my hyperactivity. But nowadays, more and more people are getting restless, impatient, want the quick fix, the shortcut, the dopamine kick; they want it NOW. Social Media’s fault? The advancement in technology? Most likely, to a certain point.

So when things are becoming repetitive, people are getting bored. Especially things that demand some physical and mental toughness. Here’s where consistency, persistence, and discipline matters so much.

Think about the late Kobe Bryant. Practicing (and making) 1000’s shots each day. Do you think he thought: Jump shots are boring, I got to do a double pump in the air, and a 360, then shoot the ball? Eh, no.

Movement & Nutrition

  1. Keep it simple.
  2. Learn the fundamentals, learn the basics.
  3. Build yourself a very steady foundation.

Something you can rely on for the rest of your life. Something you in turn, can pass on to others. That’s what I want for my clients regarding Movement & Nutrition in my Online Wellness Coaching Program. It’s also a year-long program, not a quick fix.

Learn about the whole behavioral aspect of why you do things, the way you do. Learn how to get rid of bad habits and how to implement new good ones. This program will make you do a LOT of self-reflection. Creating that awareness allows you to look at yourself from a different perspective and understand the underlying causes of why you might have failed in the past.
